2024 Dance and Yoga Classes for Adults and Kid

Adults Classes

Classes are open to students of any dance experience level! Drop-ins are available on a weekly basis for Adult Bollywood classes only. 

Please note that classes are run in sessions, there are no refunds for missed classes. Classes due to weather cancellation or instructor being sick will be rescheduled.

Semi Classical Bollywood (Beg/Inter)

Rooted in the fundamentals of Kathak, an Indian classical dance form from North India, students dive deep and learn the guru shloka and namaskar, who start this dance form by honoring the space we move in. We will work on building strength through footwork (tat-kar), hashtaks (hand gestures), and Chakkars (turns). We will fine-tune Kathak movement exercises through our practice while leaning into the grace and beauty of this dance form.

We will work through Kathak compositions, kavitas (poems), and a short choreography at the end of the series.

This class is open to ages 13-adults

Bhangra for Beginners

This energetic Beginner Bhangra class will entice your head, shoulder, knees, and toes to move and groove! Bhangra is a folk dance from Punjab that is mainstream on social media and worldwide. Join us for an evening of fun learning and easy dance moves.

Dates: April 10th-June 5th (8 week session)

Yoga & Indian Dance Flow Series

Gaitrie combines her background in Indian Classical dance and training in yoga to offer a movement-based yoga class that will leave you in awe and a newfound appreciation of the practice. The movements are fluid and graceful while incorporating breathwork. The approach is movement-based while appreciating the functional meditative movements of the body.

Open to all levels. No experience in Yoga or Dance is required

Dates: May 3rd-May 31st (No class May 10th) 

 

Fridays: 5:30-7pm




Technique & Conditioning

This class will focus on technique, conditioning, formations as well as understanding the creative process from a choreographers perspective. We will work on increasing the speed of steps with quicker changes and transitions.

Starting in June

Mondays 7-8pm

Unlimited Class Package (Adults Classes)

This unlimited package gives you access to all three classes during the eight week session.

Tots Bollywood (ages 2-4)

Our tots class is designed to get your little ones comfortable with movement (all forms), These little dancers will learn basic dance steps, as well as how to take turns, count music, take direction from a teacher, and participate in a specialized classroom setting. We will be using props and other fun movement-based items to help keep these little ones focused and moving!

Little Kids Bollywood (ages 5-9)

Our little kids’ Bollywood class is filled with joyful, energetic movements and Bollywood music. In this class, we will share a range of dance styles in Bollywood, from modern hip hop/jazz steps to elegant classical movements to create a dance they can perform at the end of the 8-week session. All classes include a warm-up, stretch technique, stationary and traveling moves, and the usage of props. 

Thursdays | 5:30pm: April 11th-May 30th (NOTE only 7 classes)

Saturdays | 11am: April 13th-June 1st (8 Classes)

*No class held on Thursday, April 25th (See our Kathak workshop for kids, which will be offered this evening)

Thursdays: 5:30-6:15 pm

Yoga & Dance Class attire: Comfortable clothing that you can easily move in (e.g. tank tops, t-shirts, leggings, yoga pants)
